Lazyguy

Goofing around on the lazyguy photoshoot

Our guys site is up-and-running, who-hoo! It's called lazyguy... because as we all know, most guys really don't enjoy trawling the shops on the weekend as much as us girls.

Same team, same great customer service, but you can now find all the Jon Pumper, Ben Sherman guys, Escort Deluxe and David Goliath (coming soon) available now on lazyguy rather than birdmotel.

So tell your guy mates if they are too lazy to drag themselves to their nearest Westfield to buy a new tee to wear Saturday night, that they might dig shopping online instead.

How I love you A.P.C

APC Spring Summer 08 collection
Every season I say I am going to buy something from A.P.C France - my friends must be getting so sick of me going on about their classic but quirky fashion. I love this Spring Summer 08 collection so much, in particular the two floral dresses. I swear, this time it will be all mine!

Big thanks

Just want to thank everyone who voted for birdmotel in the latest Shop Til You Drop Magazine poll. Although we didn't win, we happily made the finalist list for Best Australian Online Store. That's pretty cool.

Lovers Electric

Last night I went to along to see Lovers Electric play at the Sandringham Hotel in Newtown. Except, the Sando (as it is known) advised that they had been dropped and could no longer play at the venue. What!?

But you know, sometimes things do happen for a reason. Instead they craftily pasted a sign over the billposter outside the hotel advising that they will be playing down the road, inside a cosy vintage store called Chasing Stella. A big group of us headed down there at 9.30, to be greeted by the band, wine, jelly beans and lighting provided by candles and fairy lights. Sweet. Take that big, smelly ugly pub!

The couple, originally from Adelaide, only just landed in Sydney after a stint in London. Bill has been raving about them for some weeks, and they did not disappoint live, made greater by the intimate space. Eden has great style (probably something to do with the fact that she was a fashion designer in the UK) and David is both talented and lovely.

They even broke for an intermission of bingo….which birdmotel model Louise won. Some people are just born beautiful and lucky!

They have just been signed by Sony and will be releasing an album in July. You can find out more about them or listen to their music on their website www.loverselectric.com.au

Best part, I got to mix music with vintage shopping. As we staggered out at 12pm, I couldn’t help myself from buying this amazing handbag. Score!

This is no ugly Betty

Quirky French girl whose style I adore.

Her blog is http://www.leblogdebetty.com/ if you want to see more...but beware, she's addictive!

My heart and head...

Here are my favourite picks from Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Left to right: zimmermann, one teaspoon, zimmermann, flamingo sands
As always, my heart is drawn to bright colour and anything 70s pretty. I am especially lusting after what walked down the runway at Zimmermann. What is it about faded florals, bleached denim and anything with a vintage inspired print, that I just can't get enough of?

Left to right: ruby smallbone, illionaire, life with bird, kate sylvester
But... I think the tougher black, white and jersey looks are really where my head wants to head for summer 08. Aren't those grey marle pants by Kate Sylvester just perfect. I don't think I would be able to pull them off with the plaid blouse, but with a simple white cami, yes! I must have them!
