Nuffnang Fashionopolis - The Business of Blogging

After the whirlwind events of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week it was time for another Event that I was eagerly looking forward to... The Nuffnang Fashionopolis 2012. The event was held in Melbourne on 12th May 2012 and was as Australian first -- an event specifically for fashion bloggers

Although most bloggers say they Blog from their couch , the beautiful set up by Domain flowers and the inviting bed provided an excellent backdrop for the days events.

From a small business perspective the event was a great platform to get in touch with bloggers at various stages of their blogging journey.

It was great to hear Phoebe from Lady Melbourne talk about your Blog is your brand. And going by the popularity of Instagram and Pinterest , Phoebe rightly pointed out that images were the new currency.

 The event also had its share of very well heeled ladies and gentlemen.

The other highlight was the discussion on monetising your blog-- a section which was quite interesting. With the advent of FELLT featuring the Top 10 bloggers of Australia monetising a blog is definitely happening. And judging by the sartorial sense of the bloggers I met it certainly is only a matter of time when fashion trends move out of the hands of a select few and becomes more accessible to everybody through the power of blogs !!
