What's instore for Summer 09/10...

Bec and Bridge (1&2), Cassette Society (3&4) and Miss Unkon (5)

Funny thing. An agency called me today to ask me whether we would be interested in stocking one of their labels. It was 9.10am.

The first thing she said was, "oh you're there?".

Yes I said, "Our hours are 9-6pm".

The she said, "I just thought, well, if I ran an online business I wouldn't start til 12".

Me...nervous laugh, then "Righhhhhhht."

The fact is Dan and I work way beyond those hours most days, and contrary to popular belief I am not still sitting in my PJs in the afternoon, and going for long walks on the beach whenever I feel like it. Unfortunately. Running an online boutique is relentless! I swear it is turning my hair grey by the second and quite often at the end of the day, I can hardly string a sentence together. Well maybe 140 characters for a tweet, but you get the idea.

Which is why I am only now finding a little bit of spare time to sit and write about Australian Fashion Week.
Phew! Ok.

The Bec & Bridge girls proved they are a force to be reckoned with, and I just love their strong body-con aesthetic for summer and gorgeous fabrics. The fringed cuffs and cut-work belts are being produced for sale, but looks like we'll have to wait till September to get our hands on them.

And I can report that birdmotel will be picking up two new labels. The first being Cassette Society. The second being a great new up-and-comer plucked from the New Gen show, Miss Unkon. I thought her styling was exceptional, and the clothes pretty but edgy at once.

Pictured above is a sneek peak at some of the items we have on order as seen on the runway. As we are only just about to descend into winter, I am sure you are all looking forward to summer 09 as much as me.

I can't wait! I don't think winter is coming here in Perth so I think I may save my winter wardrobe money and wait for summer stuff!!
